Coal Storage is yet another feature that while having lots of potential fails to be good. To improve Coal storage it should be changed to either automatically fill up with Coal in your inventory or have cooking meals pull Coal from your inventory first and only using Coal from storage when you run out in inventory letting it act as emergency coal.
