for a free to play, cecils curios only brings their quests from being impossible to complete to being extremely unreasonable to complete. Sure the rewards arent worth much so you can just ignore the quests, but i dont consider ignoring something thats poorly implemented a valid solution to the problem. maybe you can add the items to borgens mercantile for 20-30 borgen bucks instead of forcing the player to spend 300 gold to complete one quest for very little reward.

i do think a borgen buck option would be good. especially since they effectively become useless after the quests are finished (i know that takes a while but still)

Free players can easily craft things like Apple Cider or Arnold Palmer and trade it (or any of the various free and valuable quest rewards) with other players for gold. You also accrue gold for masteries and grand masteries and a bunch of other places in game (quest rewards, void bags, tower levels).
The quests themselves are a nice little extra and not mandatory by any means. I don’t mean to sound overly critical of this suggestion, but the stuff that goes into this game - maintenance costs, server upgrades, art, coding, writing, etc. aren’t free. The game is already really generous imo and paying back just a little bit for the people who make it all happen is really not too much to ask. Not everything in the game has to cater to people who don’t want to spend any money and don’t want to trade for gold. The game would cease to exist. It needs revenue to stay online and keep being developed.
Here is my two cents, I don't necessarily hate/dislike that gold is needed for those starter packs in Cecil Curios as I'm a pretty heavy P2p player.
What I do have an issue is, is the price. Making it 300 gold but the items it offers does not justify the pricing at all.
If they price it like 150-200, I'll definitely buy those packs in curios in a heartbeat. If they want to encourage spending, they should price it in a way that make players wanna buy
Whoever came up with the pricing, ask that person to do some market research, there's even a player made, but accurate price checker
Thank you
By the way I don't dislike the idea of packs can be found in mercantile too =)
