First of the animal pens to be unlocked, with the lowest value across the board. By the time a new player reaches tower, their coop without being expanded produces nearly double their storage for egg and feathers with little to no potential for further upgrades short of shoring up egg and feather usage as your capacity later grows. This leaves the Chicken Coop in a rather awkward spot as its gold upgrade costs are only slightly cheaper than Pigs and Cows with little to no justification in comparison to spend on them. Incidentally the demand for Golden Feathers in alternative quests combined with the ever present need for Striped and Blue Feathers also continue to grow with no alternatives other than expending stamina to gather.
This development is what leads to the core of this idea, a new Perk / Farm Supply option for making it so that the appearance of your chickens, paid for with gold or silver for alternative versions, will now provide a small amount of appropriate colored feathers each day, thus allowing Farmers to diversify their coops with incentive for those progressing into the midgame. This also in turn increases the value of the Chicken Coop upgrades for maximum size as well as gives reason for players to spend on animal appearances!
