When mailing items to Buddy, he seems like he requests buddy stones and buddy dolls. Buddy dolls are not a loved or liked item and the reward received doesn't seem worth the trouble of getting the rare doll.

To my knowledge buddy dolls are simply collectibles, occasionally used/given by quests!!
