Tower really needs a rework. In its current state it is just a massive rush for a lot of players to complete way before the other really important aspects of the game. Mind you the game is very much a choose your own adventure, but there really should be some sort of linear progress to work tower alongside quests and other parts of the game to encourage players to hit all parts while climbing.
Example:
Tower levels 0-99 should focus on mastered items only
Tower levels 100-199 should focus on grand mastered items only
Tower levels 200-299 should focus on mega mastered items only
Tower levels 300-399 should focus all three types of masteries plus friendship levels and competing of certain quest lines. Example: Level 300: One item Mastered, Rosalie to level 99. Level 301 One item Mastered, *certain quest line must be completed* and so on. As you progress the tower through 300 it becomes more important to level friendships and complete certain quest lines to continue through.
As an older player the tower is the least motivating aspect of the game because it focuses solely on one aspect of the game and leaves other parts behind.
