After completing all the pinatas, I find myself just shy of the B for Buddies needed to complete Candy Causes. Other than a vanishingly small chance from void bags, there doesn't seem to be any other way to get these candies in game.
Since the quest runs until the end of May, I hope and pray some other opportunity to find them will show up before then.
