I’d like it if the quick give field remembered the last amount you sent with it, like it does on the mailbox page for the townsfolk. Maybe it could be tied to the same number?

I vote for having both options available.
"Send max" is useful in many cases when amount of stuff in inventory changes, like when fishing or exploring and gifting
