You should be able to attach mailable items to messages, or be able to attatch a note to items you send via the mailbox in order to convey intent.

This would be perfect for people who get donations for events! At the minimum there could be an optional drop-down menu somewhere when you send something that has Gift, Donation, and Trade. Make a setting or a QoL that lets you set a default or by-pass the options. If it is open-ended prompt there could be a setting or QoL that lets you pre-write a message similar to how you can set a signature on your emails
