People who have been playing the game for awhile reach a point where they don't need any more raptor eggs, but anytime you explore WC, you will get more. What if, before the eggs are incubated into raptors, they are put into a type of bank where all the eggs are put into stasis and don't mature. When you ac-blam!-ulate enough raptor eggs, they can be traded to a traveling merchant who gives you a dragon egg. It will take a long time for the dragon egg to hatch, but we are patient. You can send jewels to the dragon incubator to help the egg growth.

Also, maybe the jewels you send can determine the color of the dragon when it hatches. The largest number of the jewels will determine the color. Lemon quartz - yellow dragon. Aquamarine - light blue dragon, and so on.
